Billboards and Google Maps Street View
In 2012, the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety counted a total of 5,874 billboards in Los Angeles. In 2014, black billboards began to appear throughout Los Angeles. The black billboards were photographed and uploaded below as part of this project. The black billboards also exist as digital images in Google Maps Street View. Screen shots of the digital versions of the billboards were taken and uploaded after each photograph.
